Written by Byrne Looby | 25 October 2021

We're delighted to be appointed as one of four preferred consultants

We are pleased to announce that following a rigorous judging process, The National Trust has selected ByrneLooby as a Preferred Consultant as part of their Associate Model. The National Trust awarded just four places to their associate model for engineering services, including ByrneLooby. The National Trust selects preferred consultants based on their ability to deliver first-class engineering and conservation services focusing on sustainability, efficiency, innovation and aligned values. The National Trust is Europe's largest conservation charity, looking after 350 pay-for-entry properties and 250,000 hectares of land. Its properties include over 500 historic houses, castles, archaeological and industrial monuments, gardens, parks and nature reserves.

Jeremy Foster, Technical Director of ByrneLooby, commented: “We are delighted to be collaborating with The National Trust providing engineering support to the protection and celebration of places we all treasure. Cherishing heritage is part of our DNA at ByrneLooby, and we recognise the interconnected and shared love of special places amongst individuals, communities, local agencies, and councils. Everyone has vital inputs to make into their future.  This is a shared journey as we work together to conserve our precious heritage.

We are focused on being a trusted associate, proactively assisting and delivering capital investments. We look forward to continuing to set high standards of excellence at ByrneLooby through our pillars of commitment to clients, technical excellence and investing in our people, embedding value for the National Trust, its communities and stakeholders."

The National Trust

The National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty, commonly known as the National Trust, is a charity and membership organisation for heritage conservation in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. One of the largest landowners in the United Kingdom, the Trust owns almost 250,000 hectares (620,000 acres; 2,500 km2; 970 sq mi) of land and 780 miles of the coast. The Trust was founded in 1895 to promote the permanent preservation to benefit the Nation of lands and tenements (including buildings) of beauty or historic interest. Country houses and estates make up a significant part of its holdings, but it is also known for protecting wild landscapes such as in the Lake District and Peak District. As well as the great estates, it has acquired smaller houses with cultural significance. The National Trust is a registered charity independent of the Government. It relies on income from membership fees, donations, legacies, and revenue raised from our commercial operations, such as tea rooms and holiday cottages. You can support and help the National Trust here.
