Wednesday, 7th September 2022:

Following a record year for entries, the deserving winners of the 2022 GE Awards were announced on Tuesday 6 September 2022 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. The Awards brought together more than 800 clients, contractors, designers and geotechnical experts in the Annual celebration and recognition of all things geotechnical.  Our project - Wadhurst Cutting London End, submitted with BAM Ritchies on behalf of the client Network Rail was awarded the Editors Award out of over 120 shortlisted project entries. Our project was selected due to our value engineering, the collaborative team and its drive for a sustainable result which delivered an environmentally friendly and carbon-conscious solution.

Chris Gough, Director commented: After many years of being shortlisted on numerous occasions for these awards, I can now proudly say we are winners! Congratulations and well done to Greg, Jack, Bethan, Anthony and Allie for providing an outstanding design for Wadhurst Cutting. When we were handed over the initial brief and design of the soil-nailed cutting, we knew we could significantly improve cost and programme.  Not only did we reduce the construction cost by over £1 million, but we also reduced the embodied carbon in the scheme by using less soil nails and replacing the plastic erosion matting with a sustainable coir equivalent. The judging panel clearly saw the effort and results and awarded the project with the Editors Award."
