Dubai Harbour Masterplan

Written by Byrne Looby | 11 February 2019

Leading developers, EMAAR and MERAAS presented plans for a new suburb in one of the busiest parts of Dubai, between Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Marina, known as ‘The Dubai Harbour Masterplan Project’.

This new waterfront development project involves reshaping and extending the existing reclaimed island and building a new recreational 1,499 berth marina and a cruise ship port.

ByrneLooby is delighted to be part of ‘The Dubai Harbour Masterplan’ and will support Van Oord and Overseas AST in the ground improvement verification, design of the driven piles and the installation of concrete beams. This new district’s current shoreline and islands will be turned into one area integrating the new Skydive Dubai, the Dubai International Marine Club and Logo Island.

The completion of the project is expected in 2021 and spreads over 20 million square feet with a shopping mall that covers 875,000 square feet. The most iconic feature will be the tallest lighthouse in the world at 135-metres high that will not only contain a luxury hotel but it’s exterior will also be used for high resolution projections and light shows.

It has been a fantastic collaboration of ByrneLooby teamwork involving our offices in Dubai, Galway, Belfast and London.
