Country Manager - UK & Ireland
John founded Byrnelooby in 1998 with Michael Looby. In February 2022, Ayesa acquired ByrneLooby and John Byrne was appointed to the role of Country Manager - UK and Ireland. He has 25 years of experience, is a chartered civil engineer, has an MBA and has written a number of technical papers on deep excavations. He has been leading the transformation of Ayesa as a professional engineering consultancy from a 2-person practice to a 250-strong multi-disciplinary global engineering firm.
He continues to hold responsibility across a number of areas including operations, financial planning and leading major bids and projects. John is particularly passionate about people, investing in learning and development and providing a workplace where innovation, teamwork and creative thinking are an intrinsic part of our culture.
At Ayesa, UK and Ireland and Middle East, our teams of professionals are driven by a common purpose to provide solutions that are practical and innovative, in a workplace where inclusion and diversity and collaboration are encouraged with a clear focus on environmental responsibility, sustainability and governance goals. As part of Ayesa, the approach combines engineering with technology to provide solutions that are forward-looking.
It is about empowering people to build their careers, to challenge, to drive progress and innovation. But to do so in a way that respects the environment, and cares about social outcomes. Engineering at its best is enabling teams to work at their best. It is about trusting our managers to lead, using their knowledge to build and get the best out of teams.
When you come to work at Ayesa-Byrnelooby, we want you to bring your best self and your best ideas. When you are the driver of your own change, you are more invested and more passionate about delivering your vision. I learnt this from the time I left Arup to form a two-person consulting firm that in 2022 became part of a 6000+ global engineering and technology firm.
