New Civil Engineering Tunnelling award for Silvertown

Silvertown wins award for the best project over £200m at the NCE Tunnelling Conference & Awards 2023

🚇 The New Civil Engineer (NCE) Tunnelling Conference & Awards was held last Thursday, 7 December at Hilton Bankside, London to bring together the finest innovations, projects, engineers, contractors and consultants in the tunnelling sector.

Ayesa as part of the CJV delivering the Silvertown Tunnel, is delighted to see that Silvertown has deservedly collected four awards 🏅
The awards included the Tunnelling Project of the Year (over $200m), for the Riverlinx CJV: BAM UK & Ireland, Ferrovial Construction & SK ecoplant | Silvertown Tunnel.

👉 Ayesa is the lead shaft structures designer and part of the project team who are assisting the Riverlinx CJV consortium (Ferrovial, BAM Nuttall Ltd PPP PGGM, SK Engineering & Construction Co. Ltd) to deliver a 1.4km twin-bore road tunnel under the river Thames. This project is responsible for launching many “firsts”, including the award-winning “peanut” launch chamber, a “rotation chamber”, and a “retrieval” chamber to help drive the largest tunnel boring machine (TBM) ever used in the UK.

Although only formed four years ago, the Riverlinx CJV has embodied technical excellence, resilience, and client/stakeholder management that has resulted in multiple awards. The Riverlinx CJV approach is driving best practices that will undoubtedly provide a lasting legacy in the UK and worldwide. The project remains on target to be completed in 2025 ✔.
